What is health food?
According to the National Food Safety Standard Health Food, health food is a kind of foods which are claimed to have certain health functions or can supplement vitamins and/or minerals. In other words, the foods are suitable for certain people and has the function of regulating the human body without the purpose of therapy, and will bring no acute, sub-acute or chronic harm to human body.
China's formal health food, will be marked on the product label with "blue hat" logo, and marked the registration number or filing number below, which is the only "ID card" of health food, and can be queried on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Differences among health food, food and medicine
Health food can regulate body function and maintain body health, so it has a certain positive significance for healthy and sub-healthy people. However, "whether to treat the disease" or "whether to meet expectations" should not be a standard to measure whether health food is "IQ tax", if a disease has occurred, do not use health food as a substitute for medicine to treat disease.
