On July 17, 2025, the GACC published the information on food not allowed to enter China in June 2025. A total of 485 batches of imported food from 45 countries/regions were rejected.
Most non-compliant imported food in June came from Spain (18.1%, mostly meat products), followed by the U.S. (17.5%, mostly processed fish and meat products) and Brazil (13.2%, mostly meat products). The main food categories not allowed to enter China are meat products, aquatic products, processed fish and meat products, beverage and alcohol. The major reasons for import rejections were as follows:
Non-compliance with national food safety standards (48.9%)
Unqualified labeling (12.4%)
Inconsistence between goods and certificates (11.1%)
Issues with overseas food manufacturer registration (11.1%)
Detection of parasites (3.5%)
