On March 27, 2025, the NHSC issued 50 national food safety standards including GB 31615.2-2025 National Food Safety Standard Safety Evaluation Procedures for Food Strains. Among them, GB 31615.2 was released to provide a unified technical basis for the declaration and regulation of strains to ensure their safety, stability and compliance in food. At the same time, animal pathogenicity test, drug resistance test, toxin production test, as well as the necessary toxicology test and other active substance determination are carried out to comprehensively assess the safety of the strains.
