Recently, Changzhou Qiangsheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd., etc., in the case of not obtaining food and drug production license, purchased equipment, organized workers to blend and fill the Great Salt Lake finished products. The product manuals, brochures and other materials of water from Great Salt Lake were fabricated, claiming that the product contains 81 kinds of minerals and trace elements, posing as experts to teach, using the "element balance" theory to claim that the product has a therapeutic effect on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system, endocrine and metabolic diseases, respiratory diseases, digestive system diseases and other diseases. The main component of the involved "Qiangsheng Smart Great Salt Lake Water" is magnesium chloride by the testing of Changzhou Food and Drug Supervision and Inspection Center. Changzhou Food and Drug Supervision Department confirmed that "Qiangsheng Smart Great Salt Lake Water" involved was a fake medicine.

Experts from the Changzhou Food and Drug Safety Committee believed: there is no evidence to prove that the ingredients of Great Salt Lake Water have the claimed effects at present; Magnesium, the main ingredient in this product can be taken from the diet normally, and people who are not magnesium deficient do not need additional supplements. The involved product does not fulfill its advertised functions, and long-term or high doses of the product can lead to electrolyte disturbance, gastrointestinal diseases such as diarrhea, and even adverse effects on the heart.

The Changzhou People's Court orders Qiangsheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd., etc. to compensate consumers for the loss of 70,105,591.5 Yuan, which is three times the sales amount and apologize to the public on the national news media.
