On July 15, 2025, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened 10 new food additives for public feedback, including 2 new varieties of food additives — D-psicose 3-epimerase and Deaminase, 2 new varieties of food nutritional fortification substances — 3-fucosyllactose and Lacto-N-tetraose, 3 kinds of food additives with the scope of use expanded such as Gellan gum, and 3 kinds of food nutritional fortification substances with quality specifications supplemented such as 2'-fucosyllactose. Any comments can be submitted before August 14, 2025. Details are as follows:
Two new varieties of enzyme preparations for food industry
The quality specification requirements of enzyme preparations for food industry should comply with the provisions of the National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Enzyme Preparations for Food Industry (GB 1886.174).
Two new varieties of food nutritional fortification substances
1. Chinese name: 3-岩藻糖基乳糖
English name: 3-fucosyllactose, 3-FL
Function classification: food nutritional fortification substance
The usage, scope of use and quality specification of 3-fucosyllactose should be implemented in accordance with the draft of the food nutritional fortification substance 3-fucosyllactose in the Publicly Soliciting Opinions on 8 New Varieties of Food Additives Including Aminopeptidase issued by the CFSAs (except for Appendix C Information on Production Bacteria for 3-Fucosyllactose). The production bacteria information of the new variety of nutritional fortification substance is shown in the table below.

2. Chinese name: 乳糖-N-四糖
English name: Lacto-N-tetraose, LNT
Function classification: food nutritional fortification substance
The usage, scope of use and quality specification of Lacto-N-tetraose should be implemented in accordance with the draft of the food nutritional fortification substance Lacto-N-tetraose in the Publicly Soliciting Opinions on 8 New Varieties of Food Additives Including Aminopeptidase issued by the CFSAs (except for Appendix C Information on Production Bacteria for Lacto-N-tetraose). The production bacteria information of the new variety of nutritional fortification substance is shown in the table below.
