Antion Assisted WECARE in B. animalis subsp. lactis BLa80

On July 2, 2025, the NHC issued the Announcement No. 4 of 2025 on 20 Kinds of "Three New" Foods including D-Allulose, and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLa80 of WECARE-PROBIOTICS was successfully approved as an infant strain.

The Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLa80 approved this time is also the first infant strain in China's mainland included in the "List of Strains Allowed to be Used in Infant and Young Children Food", marking a breakthrough in the field of infant strains independently developed in China, which will provide a new functional raw material option for infant and young children food, promote the upgrading of the domestic probiotic industry, reduce import dependence, marking the beginning of a new chapter in safeguarding the health of infants and young children with domestic strains.

Antion, through close cooperation with WECARE-PROBIOTICS, efficiently completed the entire chain of declaration work including project evaluation, material writing, issuance of clinical trial plans and trial arrangements and other relevant testings.

Up to now, Antion has completed the agency declaration of three infant strains, namely Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis M-63, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BLa80 and Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis LMG 11588. There are currently multiple infant strains in the process of declaration.
