The words "Global Purchase" are prominently marked on the product page, and it is indicated that the product is a bonded imported product, an American brand, and shipped from a bonded warehouse. At the bottom of the product display page, there is even a promotional slogan that reads, "Original imported from the United States, 100% directly sourced from overseas". However, when searching on overseas search platforms and supermarket websites, no products of this brand were found.
A product named "LAXIN", which is an imported nattokinase capsule from the United States and a high-activity 4000FU red yeast rice tablet, is also sold under the name of "cross-border import" on e-commerce platforms. No products of the "LAXIN" brand can be seen on overseas e-commerce platforms. In addition, on the product detail page, it is stated that this product has four major functions: removing lipids from pipelines, reducing viscosity, restoring microcirculation, and inhibiting blockages. The investigation found that there was no display of product categories on the sales page. After inquiry, the customer service representative stated that the product was not a medicine but a health supplement.
According to Article 17 and 18 of the Advertising Law, except for advertisements for medical treatment, drugs and medical devices, no other advertisements are allowed to involve disease treatment functions, and medical terms or terms that may cause the promoted goods to be confused with drugs and medical devices should not be used. Advertisements for health food products shall not contain the following contents: (1) Assertions or guarantees regarding efficacy or safety; (2) Involving the functions of disease prevention and treatment; (3) Claiming or suggesting that the advertised product is necessary for health protection.
These so-called Australian brands, American brands and original imports from the UK are actually just ordinary products produced domestically and sold exclusively in China. Through the packaging of brand owners and factories and a set of illegal procedures, they are transformed into cross-border health products and sold at high prices, deceiving consumers.
