CFSA| Soliciting Opinions on 8 New Varieties of Food Additives

On March 21, 2025, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened 8 new food additives for public feedback, including 2 new varieties of food additives — Aminopeptidase and Xylanase, 2 new varieties of food nutritional fortification substances — 3-fucosyllactose and Lacto-N-tetraose, 3 kinds of food additives with the scope of use expanded such as Ascorbyl palmitate (enzymatic), and one food nutritional fortification substance with quality specifications supplemented 2'-fucosyllactose. Any comments can be submitted before April 20, 2025. Details are as follows:

1. Chinese name: 3-岩藻糖基乳糖

English name: 3-fucosyllactose, 3-FL

Function classification: food nutritional fortification substance

English name: Lacto-N-tetraose, LNT

Function classification: food nutritional fortification substance

The quality specifications of this substance should be implemented in accordance with the NHC Announcement No. 8 of 2023 (except for Appendix C Information on Bacteria for the Production of 2'-fucosyllactose), and the production bacteria information on the new variety of nutritional fortification substance is shown in the following table.
