Q: In the announcement on the release of the Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials Nutrient Supplements (2023 Version), Catalogue of Health Functions Allowing to be Claimed by Health Food Nutrient Supplements (2023 Version), Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials Soy Protein Isolate and Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials Whey Protein, soy protein isolate and whey protein are added to the catalogue of health food raw materials. Can these two raw materials be used for general food?

A: According to the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and the Interpretation of the Regulation of the Use of Ordinary Food Raw Materials Included in the Catalogue of Health Raw Materials issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation in March 2021, the soy protein isolate and whey protein that meet the provisions of GB 20371-2016 National Food Safety Standard Plant Protein for Food Processing and GB 11674-2010 National Food Safety Standard Whey Powder and Whey Protein Powder can be used in the production of health food and other foods. However, those are in line with the requirements of the catalogue of health food filing raw materials, with clear dosage and corresponding efficacy claimed, can only be used for the production of filing health food, cannot be used for the production of other foods.
