On April 18, 2025, the GACC published the Information on Food Not Allowed to Enter China in March 2025. A total of 231 batches of imported food from 40 countries/regions were rejected.
Most non-compliant imported food in March came from the U.S. (10.0%), followed by Spain (9.1%) and Brazil (8.2%). The major reasons for import rejections were as follows:
Incompliance with food national standards (26.4%)
Discrepancy between cargo and certificate (22.5%)
Detection of animal epidemic diseases (11.7%)
Unqualified labeling (10.0%)
Food spoilage (5.6%)
Among them, the main food categories involved include meat products, aquatic products and alcohol & beverage, accounting for 43.3%, 12.1% and 11.3%, respectively.
