Information on Food Not Allowed to Enter China in April 2021

According to the monthly notice of non-entry foods by GACC,157 batches of imported foods were found unqualified and not allowed to enter China in April 2021.


The information shows that non-entry foods came from 29 countries or regions including Thailand,Hong Kong,Vietnam,and the United States. Among them,non-entry products from Thailand were the most.


The main unqualified reasons of non-entry foods were unqualified labels,microbial contamination,inconsistent cargo certificates,failure to provide certificates or qualified certification documents as required,filthy and corrupt,failure to obtain inspection and quarantine access,non-compliant use of food additives. Among them,unqualified labels were the most,involving pastries,beverages,chocolate,crackers.


Aquatic products and their processed products,meat and meat products were the major categories of non-entry foods. Among the prepackaged foods, 8 batches of beverages from Hong Kong used excessive nutritional fortification substance calcium pantothenate, 3 batches of bird’s nest drinks from Thailand failed to obtain inspection and quarantine access,4 batches of chocolate from France had unqualified labels,and 3 batches of cookies from Denmark had unqualified labels.
