On January 6, 2021, Antion successfully held a live streaming course of 2020 Food Regulations Roundup, Mr. Fei Hongtao, founder and general manager of Antion Consulting, interpreted the key food regulations issued in 2020 and analyzed the future trends of changes in food regulations to help enterprises improve the awareness of compliance management and reduce the risk of violations of laws and regulations. The live streaming course attracted more than 100 industry professionals and received positive response from industry peers. Antion will briefly introduce the release of food regulations in 2020.
In order to ensure food quality and promote the development of the industry, China has taken various measures and issued several food-related regulations and standards, which covering not only the production, operation, and sales of food, but also food labeling, advertising, and live streaming, etc. Antion has made preliminary statistics on administrative regulations, ministerial regulations and food standards issued by the State Council and its food regulatory ministries in 2020, with a total of 975 items. According to the statistics, in 2020, 357 food-related regulations and 43 draft regulations were issued by the State; 397 food -related standards, 132 draft food standards and 46 new established standards were issued by the State and ministries and commissions.
In addition, Antion has conducted statistical analysis of the approval of special foods and “three new foods” in 2020.
In 2020, SAMR totally approved 70 applications for registration of infant and young children formula milk powder products, including 11 domestic enterprises, with a total of 51 formulas; 4 oversea enterprises, with a total of 19 formulas. A total of 3115 health food products were approved, including changes and renewals. For foods for special medical purpose (FSMP), a total of 12 formulas were approved, including 2 foods for special medical purpose for infant (partially hydrolyzed milk protein formula, amino acid formula), 7 full nutritional formulas, 1 electrolyte formulas (approval for the first time), 1 protein components formulas (approval for the first time), and 1 carbohydrate components formulas (approval for the first time).

In 2020, NHC approved 4 novel food ingredients, 15 new varieties of food additives (new approval only), and 28 new varieties of food-related products (new approval only). Besides, in the aspect of soliciting opinions, including 7 novel foods, 11 new varieties of food additives, and 18 new varieties of food-related products.
